What we cover

Our coverage is organized around four areas: Data Insights, Admissions Trends, Market Briefs and For Institutions. The primary geographic focus is the United States and Canada, with particular attention to Chinese student mobility and changing North American education markets.

Editorial approach

We use public and administrative data to document change, then distinguish the source evidence from Howdy's calculations, comparisons and interpretation. Applications, visas, study permits, enrollment and post-study participation describe different stages of student mobility.

Research articles are reviewed before publication for source attribution, statistical definitions and internal consistency. Where evidence does not support a causal conclusion, we state the limitation. Our Research Standards explain the source, bilingual and corrections policies.

Howdy Research Desk produces data-led analysis of North American international education. It is an editorial identity for this publication, not a claim of external peer review or a large newsroom.

Founder perspective

The founder of HOWDYGROUP GLOBAL CONSULTING LLC earned a master's degree from Texas A&M University in 2013 and has worked in study-abroad counseling for more than a decade. The practice has focused primarily on master's applications and the United States and Canada, while also covering undergraduate and doctoral study and other major destinations. This experience informs the questions we examine, but practitioner observation is identified separately from public data and representative research.

Corrections and updates

Data articles identify their sources. Material errors are corrected after review, and time-sensitive analyses may be revisited when relevant official data become available. Original publication dates are retained; minor editorial changes do not trigger a visible Updated date.
